Communication, Confidentiality
& Professional Boundaries Policy

Effective Date: 29 July 2026

Purpose

Meaningful professional relationships are built upon trust, mutual respect and clear expectations.

This Policy explains how Boris Walter communicates with clients, maintains confidentiality and establishes professional boundaries that support safe, respectful and effective working relationships.

These boundaries are not intended to create distance. Rather, they help ensure that every client receives professional, consistent and ethical service.

This Policy should be read together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Informed Consent & Client Acknowledgement and any applicable Client Agreement.

Communication

We welcome communication relating to:

  • appointment scheduling;

  • rescheduling or cancellations;

  • invoices and payments;

  • administrative enquiries;

  • service information; and

  • other matters directly relating to your engagement.

Communication is intended to support the delivery of professional services while respecting the time and wellbeing of both clients and the practice.

Communication Between Sessions

Unless expressly included within your service agreement, communication between appointments is intended primarily for administrative purposes.

For most Personal Integration clients, this includes matters such as:

  • confirming appointments;

  • updating contact details;

  • sharing agreed resources; or

  • addressing administrative questions.

It does not ordinarily include ongoing counselling, coaching, therapeutic support or extended consultation between sessions.

Executive Mentorship, Company Integration and other retained services may include additional communication arrangements as outlined in the relevant agreement.

Response Times

We aim to respond to emails and enquiries within a reasonable timeframe during normal business hours.

Response times may vary depending on client commitments, workshops, travel and other professional responsibilities.

Immediate responses cannot be guaranteed.

Emergency and Crisis Support

Boris Walter does not provide emergency, crisis intervention or after-hours support.

If you require urgent medical or mental health assistance, please immediately contact an appropriate emergency service or healthcare provider.

Depending on your circumstances, this may include:

  • 000 (Emergency Services);

  • your treating GP;

  • your nearest hospital emergency department;

  • your psychologist or psychiatrist; or

  • an appropriate mental health crisis service.

If you believe there is an immediate risk to yourself or another person, contact emergency services without delay.

Confidentiality

Respect for confidentiality is fundamental to Boris Walter's professional practice.

Information shared throughout our work together will generally remain confidential and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

However, confidentiality is not absolute.

Disclosure may be required or authorised where:

  • you provide informed consent;

  • disclosure is required by law;

  • there is a serious and imminent risk to life, health or safety;

  • another recognised legal obligation applies.

Where appropriate and lawful, reasonable efforts will be made to discuss any necessary disclosure with you beforehand.

Respectful Communication

Professional relationships rely upon mutual respect.

We ask that all communication with Boris Walter and members of the team remains courteous, respectful and constructive.

Behaviour that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intimidating or persistently inappropriate may result in communication being limited or professional services being suspended or terminated where appropriate.

Professional Boundaries

Professional boundaries exist to protect both clients and practitioners and to support the integrity of the work.

Accordingly:

  • professional relationships remain distinct from personal relationships;

  • services are provided within agreed appointment times unless otherwise arranged;

  • significant personal, business and healthcare decisions remain the responsibility of the client;

  • Boris Walter does not assume responsibility for decisions made by clients outside the professional relationship;

  • interactions outside professional contexts may be acknowledged respectfully while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

These boundaries are intended to create a consistent and safe environment in which meaningful work can occur.

Social Media

Boris Walter shares educational resources and professional updates through various public platforms.

Following, commenting on or interacting with Boris Walter through social media does not establish a professional relationship.

To protect your privacy, we recommend avoiding the sharing of confidential or sensitive personal information through public comments, direct messages or social media platforms.

Professional enquiries should instead be directed through the appropriate business contact channels.

Gifts

Expressions of appreciation are always received with gratitude.

From time to time, modest gifts or tokens of appreciation may be accepted where appropriate.

However:

  • gifts will never influence professional judgement;

  • they do not alter the professional relationship; and

  • they will not affect the quality or availability of services.

Where accepting a gift may create a conflict of interest or compromise professional boundaries, it may be respectfully declined.

Feedback and Complaints

We welcome constructive feedback as an opportunity to continually improve our services.

If something has not met your expectations, we encourage you to raise your concerns as early as possible.

Where appropriate, concerns should be submitted in writing so they can be carefully considered and responded to in a timely, respectful and fair manner.

Where a complaint relates to legal, privacy or professional obligations, it will be managed in accordance with applicable legislation and internal policies.

Changes to This Policy

This Policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect changes in professional practice, legal obligations or business operations.

The most current version will be available through Boris Walter's website or provided upon request.
